Lymphoedema is a swelling that develops because the lymph drainage system is not working properly. Although this cannot be cured, treatment will help to reduce the swelling and keep it under control. There are four parts to lymphoedema management and you can find out more about these different methods on this website. When you attend clinic, you will be shown the self treatments that you can do at home. Although many people share the same sort of problems - every person is different. When you first attend the clinic your needs will be assessed and an individual treatment plan will be agreed with you.

The aim of treatment is to show you how you can control your lymphoedema so that you will be able to manage the swelling yourself.
